WEEKLY CHESS LESSON SCHEDULE

This is my Summer Schedule.  The old times from Spring are shown in the text under the schedule.

The best times for me tend to be late morning or early/mid afternoon.  I need an hour each day between 3-6pm for swimming.

I do expect a fair number of cancellations and holiday breaks throughout the summer.  Please let me know when you're out of town.

NOTES:

  1. All times are Pacific time zone.

  1. This weekly schedule is only for my serious chess lessons. Each student receives a 1 to 2 hour time slot, with the longer lessons being for more advanced students. I will guarantee a lesson longer than 60 minutes only for students rated over 1800.  Lessons of 90 or more minutes are reserved only for my elite students.

  1. I expect students to be punctual for lessons. As a general rule for online meetings, students should plan to log into ICC (and Skype) at least 5 minutes early.  Please say hello when you are ready. (tell fpawn hello, are you ready?)

  1. I only accept new students if they are available during one of the open slots in this schedule. Please note that I reserve about 2 hours on each weekday for dinner and family time. Hence, most of my classes will be between 3:30-6:00 and 7:45-10:00. Students who are available between 1:00-3:00 (Early Afternoon) or 9:00-10:30 (Late Evening) stand a better chance of obtaining a time slot.

  1. Although I do teach on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings, students must expect an average of about 1-2 cancellations a month due mostly to weekend chess tournaments and sometimes to family commitments.

  1. My goal is to limit myself to four lessons daily for no more than six hours total to minimize the chance of burnout towards the end of the day.

  1. I typically set my teaching schedule in August of each year, with minor modifications in January and June. If you need to change your time slot at another time, please understand that I will most likely have to switch you with another student. Therefore, I welcome any flexibility so that I can accompany students whose schedules do change.
